On 21 October 2011, the COP issued decision 6/COP.10 with respect to the Governance and institutional arrangements of the Global Mechanism. In it, the COP recalled that the appointment and recruitment of staff of the Global Mechanism is done under the Rules and Regulations of IFAD and decided that the accountability and legal representation of the Global Mechanism shall be transferred from IFAD to the UNCCD Secretariat. 7.
