- 7 - Furthermore, the European Union decided to support the Plan of Action on Universalisation approved during last year's Third Review Conference by agreeing on a Joint Action (JA 2007/528/CFSP of 23 July 2007). We reiterate firm commitment to the implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action within the remainder of the decade, including by conducting regular reviews with the full involvement of all key stakeholders; 2. In this regard, we request UN-OHRLLS to ensure synergy and coherence in the follow-up and review of the three Programmes of Action for LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; 5. A Shared Vision for long term cooperative action Argentina considers that in the Copenhagen negotiations a step forward was achieved by acknowledging the relevance of the recent scientific findings gathered and processed by the IPCC. (...) Finally, Argentina would like to emphasize the need to enhance climate change related disaster risk reduction strategies, considering the Hyogo Framework for Action and the lessons learned from its implementation.

The 2007 report presented findings of a comparative study of affirmative action policies and programmes in Brazil, Canada, India, Malaysia, Namibia, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. (...) It sets out a wide range of principles and guidelines concerning action to address discrimination against migrant workers, as well as a number of examples of best practice. (...) Workers’ and employers’ organizations ILO tripartite constituent attention, action and results in addressing discrimination, racism and xenophobia have significantly increased since 2001.

Non-Annex I Parties shall report these actions, their implementation and the results of each action through a National Communication every two years. (...) The negotiating text should cover all elements of the Bali Action Plan and lead to a balanced, comprehensive and ambitious outcome. (...) UNFCCC and the Bali Action Plan should continue to be the basis for further work and for constructing a legally binding outcome at a future date.

As a first contribution, this document aims to present an overview of the concrete action undertaken by the Organization in all its fields of competence since 2001, including information on specific responses to the Durban Programme of Action. (...) Adopted by consensus at the World Conference in Durban, South Africa, the Durban Declaration and Plan of Action (DDPA) is a comprehensive, action-oriented document that proposes concrete measures to combat racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. (...) Recommendations of the Durban Programme of Action directly referring to UNESCO’s mandate The DDPA is a comprehensive document which addresses suggestions and a call for action to all stakeholders involved in the struggle against racism and discrimination, be they States, International Organizations, Civil Society or any other actor.

Call for Action 7. We call upon our development partners to provide enhanced support to LDCs to achieve the overarching goal, set out in the Istanbul Programme of Action, of enabling half of them to meet the criteria for graduation by removing structural constraints through eradication of poverty and the achievement of accelerated, sustained, inclusive and equitable growth and sustainable development. (...) We express our concern that that without urgent and enhanced action, LDCs will not be able to reach the international target on energy. (...) We welcome the specific initiatives presented under the nine action areas at the Climate Action Summit, which have high potentials to curb greenhouse gas emissions and increased global action on adaptation and resilience.
