Garment companies in Laos mostly depend on imported fibre, yarn and fabric for assembling as finished garments that are then re-exported. (...) One area of support for productivity enhancement in the Lao garment industry is improvement in import procedures of raw materials and prompt service for the export of ready-made garments. (...) In the next steps, the Lao Textile and Garment Industry Group in collaboration with the government will need to work hard to negotiate for market access for each category of garments.
