Long-Term Care
Long-term care (LTC) refers to support that is needed by older persons with limited ability to care for themselves due to physical or mental conditions, including chronic diseases and multimorbidity. (...) Filling these gaps would create employment particularly for women and in rural areas where gaps are most severe – and provide access to urgently needed services.

Feasibility of a long term global aspirational goal for international aviation
Following the agreement by the Council on the CAEP proposal regarding further work on the feasibility of a long-term global aspirational goal to reduce CO2 emissions in international aviation , , the CAEP Long-Term Aspirational Goal Task Group (CAEP LTAG-TG) was established and it started its work in March 2020. (...) In particular, substantial progress was achieved by CAEP LTAG-TG with respect to the relevant methodology and process for data gathering and scenario development, parameters of the long-term aspirational goal’s time horizon, and the possibility of following a per annum improvement approach as a means to align with other CAEP work.

30 October 2020
Health
With some COVID-19 patients reporting long-term symptoms, including damage to major organs, the World Health Organization ( WHO ) has urged governments to ensure they receive the care they need.
(...) “It is imperative that governments recognize the long-term effects of COVID-19 and also ensure access to health services to all of these patients,” he said.
(...) Against herd immunity
Stories like this underline how people facing the long-term effects of COVID-19 must be given the time and care they need to recover fully, according to the WHO chief.

This core experiment addresses the extension of motion-compensated prediction to multiple reference frames assembled in a long-term memory buffer. The long-term memory buffer is simultaneously built at encoder and decoder by reconstructed frames. (...) Long-term memory motion-compensated prediction is incorporated into an H.263+-based video codec.
(...) The simulation conditions for the anchor are as specified in document Q15-D-62.

(...) In many countries, evidence shows that more than 40% of COVID-19 related deaths have been linked to long-term care facilities, with figures being as high as 80% in some high-income countries. Concerted action is needed to mitigate the impact across all aspects of long-term care, including home- and community-based care, given that most users and providers of care are those who are vulnerable to severe COVID-19.
