LETTER DATED 24 JUNE 2016 FROM THE PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF AZERBAIJAN TO THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA ADDRESSED TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
One primary school, numerous houses, facilities and manufacturing plants were shot by artillery and many vehicles and high voltage power lines were damaged. (...) As a result I.Ahmadov was checked in at the Barda Central region hospital with numerous shrapnel wound all over his body. At 19:20 one of the missiles launched in direction of Shikharkh village made an impact on the vehicle, model “Niva-2121” driven by the settler Aliyev Sadig Natig, born 1987. At the result the passenger of the vehicle Asadli Farman Elchin, born 1992, passed away from blood loss caused by the numerous shrapnel wounds. Driver and the other passenger Rahimov Mubariz Vagif, born 1982 received numerous shrapnel wounds.

As of October 1, 2020, 19 Azerbaijani civilians were killed, 55 were injured and more than 200 houses and civilian facilities were destroyed. There are numerous facts of the use of terrorist groups and mercenaries in military operations by Armenia during the occupation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region and surrounding areas of Azerbaijan. (...) The OSCE Minsk Group in its numerous statements so far has stressed that the status quo is unacceptable. (...) To date, Armenia has not complied with the requirements of numerous decisions adopted by international organizations, including, first of all, those reflected in the UN Security Council Resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 of 1993, regarding the withdrawal of Armenian occupying forces from all occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

The land rights problem is closely related to the issues surrounding economic development strategies as they affect the areas in which indigenous peoples live. Numerous indigenous communities have taken advantage of new economic opportunities provided by changes in productive activities, adjusting their lifestyles accordingly. (...) The tension generated by these problems has frequently led to protest action by indigenous organizations, leading to confrontation and conflict. In numerous cases, indigenous activists have been prosecuted, harassed, detained and imprisoned for their involvement in the protection of the rights of their environment and communities (...) • In Surigao del Norte, one of the provinces of the Caraga region, numerous families have been displaced from their homes and fields, and their agricultural lands were destroyed as a result of open-pit mining operations in Taganito and Tinabigan.

Several communities have self-managed water and sanitation services (“sistemas comunitarios de agua”). Numerous civil society organizations and some national authorities expressed concerns about the capacity of some municipal authorities to fulfil their mandate as service providers in the water and sanitation sector and the need to strengthen those services. 11. (...) In 2011, the World Health Organization published the fourth edition of its guidelines on drinking water quality and numerous addenda and recommendations for specific contaminants. (...) It was reported that, in numerous cases, those environmental issues directly or indirectly affected water sources, raising concerns about drinking water quality and health protection in affected areas, considering that various contaminants are not adequately removed by water treatment plants and that in some cases, water is directly consumed from the sources.
