Rear Admiral Ríos succeeds Major General José Eladio Alcaín of Uruguay, who will shortly complete his assignment.  The Secretary-General is grateful to Major General Alcaín for his contribution to United Nations peacekeeping efforts.  Rear Admiral Ríos has had a distinguished career in the Argentinean Navy since 1988, when he graduated from the Navy Academy as Middleshipman.  (...) He has also served as a Humanitarian Demining Supervisor with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Angola (1997-1998).  Rear Admiral Ríos speaks fluent English and basic Portuguese and Russian.

Amendment of law as to jurisdiction of the Admiral 2. An offence committed by a person, whether he is or is not a subject of Her Majesty, on the open sea within the territorial waters of Her Majesty's dominions, is an offence within the jurisdiction of the Admiral, although it may have been committed on board or by means of a foreign ship, and the person who committed such offence may be arrested, tried and punished accordingly. (...) Proceedings for the trial and punishment of a person who is not a subject of Her Majesty, and who is charged with any such offence as is declared by this Act to be within the jurisdiction of the Admiral, shall not be instituted in any court of the United Kingdom, except with the consent of one of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, and on his certificate that the institution of such proceedings is in his opinion expedient, and shall not be instituted in any of the dominions of Her Majesty out of the United Kingdom, except with the leave of the Governor of the part of the dominions in which such proceedings are proposed to be instituted, and on his certificate that it is expedient that such proceedings should be instituted. (...) This Act shall not prejudice or affect the trial in manner heretofore in use of any act of piracy as defined by the Page 2 National legislation - DOALOS/OLA - United Nations asdf law of nations, or affect or prejudice any law relating thereto; and where any act of piracy as defined by the law of nations is also any such offence as is declared by this Act to be within the jurisdiction of the Admiral, such offence may be tried in pursuance of this Act, or in pursuance of any other Act of Parliament, law or custom relating thereto.

Vježbe koje smo radili vraćaju i nas roditelje u djetinjstvo, kako bismo mogli da osjetimo i predvidimo šta dijete može da uradi, šta misli, kako se osjeća i onda je s djecom mnogo lakše sarađivati”, priča Admir. Nakon završenih radionica, Admir misli da, ukoliko želimo na pravi način da vaspitamo svoju djecu, moramo prvo vaspitati sebe. (...) Tina Novović, facilitatorka Admir kaže da je mnogo smireniji, te da svaki problem rješava timski i kroz komunikaciju s djecom.

Jokić was one of the war-time commanders of the Yugoslav National Army (JNA) stationed around Dubrovnik in 1991. (...) Under international law, military commanders are also required to have knowledge of the acts of their subordinates, to take measures to punish crimes that they committed and to prevent any further occurrences. Admiral Jokić voluntarily surrendered to the Tribunal on 12 November 2001. (...) Last week, the Trial Chamber sentenced Admiral Jokić to 7 years imprisonment for aiding and abetting in the crimes committed in Dubrovnik on 6 December 1991 and for failing to punish the perpetrators who were soldiers under his command.
