Advertising and sponsoring are regulated by the Law of Georgia on Advertising (LoA) adopted on 18 February 1998 and the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting (LoB) adopted on 24 December 2004. (...) According to Article 2 of the LoA its purposes are: development of competition in the purview of advertising; protection of the rights of society, subjects of advertising and consumers and; prevention and preclusion of inappropriate advertising.

Does the regulation apply both to off-line and on-line advertising?
The general requirements on advertising have been established under the Law on Advertising of the Republic of Lithuania. (...) Such prohibitions apply for all types and means of advertising (both off-line and on-line advertising).

The sector includes sale or leasing of advertising space or time; planning, creating and placement services of advertising; outdoor and aerial advertising and delivery of samples and other advertising materials. There are commitments in advertising services in the schedules of 51 WTO Members, which together represent 80% of world merchandise trade and the majority of global advertising activity.
