The gatekeepers of information saw their gates come crashing down, as they lost the biggest privilege of all – the right to decide what is important and what is not.
(...) Enter YouTube: the world’s biggest television repository and video-hosting service which creates almost zero content itself, but is the haven for all the wannabes on earth. (...) In four months, Liberty TV became the biggest media entity on Lithuanian YouTube, with some of its programmes reaching six-figure viewership numbers and competing with the most popular shows on mainstream TV.

Remarks by Rushnan Murtaza, UNICEF Deputy Representative, at the press launch of a mass bed net distribution
UNICEF Sierra Leone/2017/Phelps
About
From 22 nd to 31 st May this year, Sierra Leone will see its biggest ever distribution of mosquito nets with 4.6 million being distributed across 14 districts. This distribution of mosquito nets will no doubt contribute towards the reduction of the malaria disease which happens to be the biggest killer disease among pregnant women and children under the age of 5.

PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF ALL HUMAN RIGHTS, CIVIL, POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO DEVELOPMENT : WRITTEN STATEMENT / SUBMITTED BY THE SOCIETY STUDIES CENTRE (MADA SSC)
The right to development guarantees benefiting from the natural resources and eliminating poverty and hunger, and this
could not be achieved unless the obstacles are removed. The biggest obstacle is the continuation of imposing those
measures. (...) The Centre would like to draw the attention of the High Level Committee of the fiftieth anniversary of the two
covenants to consider that the negative impacts of the unilateral coercive measures represent the biggest obstacle for
enjoying the rights included in the two covenants.

PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF ALL HUMAN RIGHTS, CIVIL, POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO DEVELOPMENT :WRITTEN STATEMENT / SUBMITTED BY THE INSTITUTE FOR PROTECTION OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS (IPWR)
The rampant spread of the virus
not only threatened human lives, rather, discovering and ensuring faster access to the
thousand-face vaccine and concerns about the fair distribution of the vaccine across countries
turned into the biggest human rights challenge in recent years. During this crisis, hundreds
of companies and dozens of countries around the world, generally rich and developed
countries, have started projects to discover and produce the COVID-19 vaccine, and the news
of the vaccine production reaches the world public every day. (...) The Institute for the
Protection of Women's Rights (IPWR), while expressing concern that more than two years
have passed since the outbreak of COVID-19, the monopoly of vaccine production has
become the biggest obstacle for developing countries to combat the virus, declares that in
order to ensure the right to health, it is necessary for all governments to work toward the
widespread production and public access to vaccines in a transparent manner with scientific
methods and without restrictions.

An introduction to
DCMD
Part 1
The problem: the biggest number of death is the least reliable.
• The biggest number, D(60+) of LDR(Less Developed Region), is estimated using model life
tables. Other numbers of death are obtained from registrations and surveys.
• This reality indicates that improving the estimates of old-age mortality (15q60) for individual
developing countries is not enough, and that establishing a life-table database for all
developing countries, which utilizes the improved estimations of old-age mortality, is
necessary.
The problem: the biggest number of death is the least reliable.
What can we do?
(...) Logarithm of death rate by single-year and five-year age groups, Malawi men, year 2001
Black circle: Abridged Input
White circle: Equivalent Construction
Line: Construction-based Graduation
Application
Application
• The biggest Ard: 2% (Rwanda women in 1994, in which an unprecedented genocide
happened )
• 2% means about 2 years if the life expectancies are 100 years
Figure 2 displays the logarithms of death rate by
age of Rwanda women in 1994.

INFORMATION AND VIEWS ON THE MITIGATION POTENTIAL AT THE DISPOSAL OF ANNEX 1 PARTIES : SUBMISSIONS FROM PARTIES : ADDENDUM
Nearly all stationary energy, and over 70% of total
energy production, comes from renewable sources, hydro and geothermal. The biggest four sources of
emissions are: industrial processes (25%), transport (20%), the fishing fleet (19%), and agriculture
(13%).
(...)
• The fishing fleet (19%) is a major source of emissions, as Iceland is the 12th biggest fishing
nation in the world, exporting the vast majority of its catch. (...) This will help ensure fairness and
help bring pressure on industries and companies that have the biggest and cheapest possibilities for
emission reduction.
