The Secretary-General states in his report that key outcomes from the 2020 Working Group include the introduction of buddy first aid ki ts, field medical assistance kits and mobile surgical modules; reimbursement for the extended deployments of military and police units in temporary operating bases; expanding the categories of ageing equipment eligible for rotation at United Nations expens e; strengthening the provision of environmental management by adding generator synchronization panels and berms for generator foundations; and the inclusion of new A/74/754 20-04163 2/6 major equipment, including two types of unmanned aerial systems (micro and mini) and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities (A/74/698, para. 5). 4. TRIENNIAL REVIEW OF THE RATES AND STANDARDS FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO MEMBER STATES FOR CONTINGENT-OWNED EQUIPMENT :REPORT OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL
Key outcomes from the 2020 Working Group include the introduction of buddy first aid kits, field medical assistance kits and mobile surgical modules; reimbursement for the extended deployments of military and police units in temporary operating bases; expanding the categories of ageing equipment eligible for rotation at United Nations expense; strengthening the provision of environmental management by adding generator synchronization panels and berms for generator foundations; and the inclusion of new major equipment, including two types of unmanned aircraft systems (micro and mini) and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities. (...) The Secretariat supports and welcomes the recommendation to add a buddy first aid kit as a self-sustainment category. The 2020 Working Group agreed that the deployment of buddy first aid kits would commence as soon as possible, with mandatory deployments effective 1 July 2022.
