27. The discussion was held on the basis of TRADE/WP.7/GE.1/1999/INF.13 which had been prepared by
the rapporteurs, Germany and Israel, on the basis of the text of the standard in force.
28. The delegations of CLAM, Greece and Spain explained in their documents that they would like to
maintain the existing standard in most areas because it has in the past facilitated trade of citrus fruit and thus
contributed to the success of this industry.
