Embeddedness BREDS wanted to provide employment for people in the community who had the coaching skills and experience. EduSport coaches go through a normal recruiting process (interviews and police record checks in compliance with Jamaica’s Child Care and Protection Act to ensure that they can work with children) and most coaches have previously worked in the schools or community centres in various sporting programmes. Led by subject matter experts(female volunteers), the boot camp offered the girls the chance to learn something new or finesse existing skills while mingling with peers, forming new relationships and networking with women professional from Vodafone foundation and Huawei. The girls were able to learn the latest digital media tools, with an emphasis on • Storytelling and composition skills, • Storyboarding skills • Writing & photography skills • Digital footprint and social media usage skills • Radio & video production At the end of the camp, the girls were able to plan, shoot, edit and publish a video and their photographs using the tablets from the INS kit.

The Programme is aimed to promote sports and life skills training for adolescent girls, with a primary focus on utilizing sports role models to promote gender equality, including through educating men and boys – using mass media, social media, and community level interventions. (...) As part of their programming, Right To Play has employed life skills in multiple districts across Sindh province. As a result, the confidence level of children, especially girls, in schools has increased; violence and bullying in schools has been reduced; and essential life skills of children have been built.
