In the Special Rapporteur’s view any improvements in educational processes and teaching methods in Guaraní will have a positive impact on the development of students’ cognitive processes. The enactment of the Languages Bill submitted to Congress in 2007 will pave the way for effective mother-tongue teaching to numerous children in preschool and for the teaching of both languages in basic and secondary school. 62.

Therefore, the demand for advanced cognitive skills, sociobehavioural skills, and skill combinations associated with greater adaptability are likely to increase. Investing in human capital, particularly early childhood education, to develop high - order cognitive and sociobehavioural skills in addition to foundational skills would be critically important.

The second is the de-radicalization component, the aim of which is to change the behaviour and mindset of Boko Haram adherents, including through cognitive behaviour and group therapy, religious dialogue, religious counselling and vocational training to acquire a basic level of education and skills.

As a result, most care homes will only accept those older persons who can live independently and not those who have more complex needs due to cognitive conditions, such as dementia, or other neurological and mental health conditions, such as depression, or those who need palliative care.66 With an ageing population, demand for palliative care increases.

Its overall approach does not regard persons with intellectual, cognitive or psychosocial disabilities as holders of rights, but rather as mere recipients of care. (...) Equally important are the care and support for persons with psychosocial, cognitive and intellectual disabilities. 66. For most mild and moderate mental health conditions, cost-effective non-specialized interventions based on human interaction, talking and listening, starting from “watchful waiting”, may be all that is required.
