Japan’s agreement to settle a long-standing dispute with South Korea concerning wartime sex slaves needs to do more for the victims, a UN rights panel said Monday.
Independent rights expert Ismat Jahan, who sits on the UN women’s rights committee known by its acronym CEDAW , said that the “rights, demands and views” of so-called “comfort women” who were used by the Japanese military in the Second World War need to be heard.

Japan’s agreement to settle a long-standing dispute with South Korea concerning wartime sex slaves needs to do more for the victims, a UN rights panel said Monday. Independent rights expert Ismat Jahan, who sits on the UN women’s rights committee known by its acronym CEDAW , said that the “rights, demands and views” of so-called “comfort women” who were used by the Japanese military in the Second World War need to be heard.

By installing new joinery and thermal façade on the primary school "Dositej Obradović" in Blatnica near Teslic, more comfortable indoor conditions for 280 students and teachers are provided. In addition to comfort, significant financial and energy savings will be achieved.

As a result, buildings are heavily reliant on artificial means for indoor comfort, i.e. cooling, heating and lighting. Inefficient design, construction using materials produced with intensive input of energy, combined with poor understanding of thermal comfort, passive building principles and energy conscious behaviour, have led to tremendous energy wastage.
