SECURITY COUNCIL OFFICIAL RECORDS, 11TH YEAR : 735TH MEETING, 5 OCTOBER 1956, NEW YORK
Ta put the matter in a different way, the Con-
vention, together with the Company's concessions,
constituted a balanced scheme. (...) On 17 November 1954, Colonel Nasser
stated that there remained fourteen years until
the end of the Universal Suez Canal Company's
concession. He said that gClOd relations existed
between the Company and the Egyptian Govern-
ment. (...) It had no
grievance against the Company's administration. 'Vell,
either he was quite insincere when he said that, or else
his attacks upon the Company since are without
foundation.

REPORT OF THE SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL ON THE ISSUE OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS AND OTHER BUSINESS ENTERPRISES, JOHN RUGGIE : ADDENDUM
The principle of limited liability provides that a company's liabilities do not extend
to any of the shareholders’ or directors’ personal property.
31. (...) Most jurisdictions have a body of common law or statutory provisions describing
limited exceptions to these concepts, whereby the company’s owners may be held directly
liable for the company's liabilities, an action known as "piercing the corporate veil."
(...) Likewise, in Australia courts may lift the corporate veil where a
company's structure is being used to perpetuate a fraud, or to enable a legal or fiduciary
obligation to be evaded.

USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION NETWORKS : NOTE / BY THE SECRETARIAT
Crossing the skies at a speed of approximately 25,000 kilometres per hour in the range of altitudes between 500
and 1,400 kilometres, LEO spacecraft constellations will drastically expand the volume of outer space available for
satellite-based communications systems because of congestion on the unique geostationary orbit. On the other hand,
as LEO or MEO satellites are in motion with respect to the Earth, several satellites are needed to ensure continuous
service over a given area (the pass-time of a satellite is a few minutes for LEOs and a few hours for MEOs).
