In Estonia, the Ministry of Justice coordinates the anti-corruption policy, including drafting anti-corruption legislation and anti-corruption strategy. Fundamental document in preventing corruption is the Anti-Corruption Strategy 2013-2020, which was approved by the Estonian Government on 3 November 2013. (...) The human rights perspective is integrated into the preventive measures against corruption found in the Anti-Corruption Strategy, although the strategy does not state it expressly.

As the first step of launching the national anti-corruption campaign, the government established the Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (FEACC) in 2001 under Proclamation No. 235/2001. (...) According to the establishment proclamation, the independent commission is duty-bound to create an aware society where corruption will not be condoned or tolerated by promoting ethics and anti-corruption education. (...) In the years ahead, we will do our best to fight corrupters in courts in accordance with the anti-corruption special procedure and rules of evidence proclamation so that properties they plundered through the commission of corruption shall be restrained and confiscated.

UNAMA Afghans have been reporting in surveys that corruption is a daily problem and the pervasiveness of corruption in Afghanistan and the measures to counter it are documented in UNAMA’s annual Anti-Corruption Reports.1 Corruption has a concrete impact on all citizens of Afghanistan, who are required to pay bribes in nearly every aspect of daily life, and who suffer from inequities in economic and employment opportunities as a result of widespread nepotism and patronage. Statement CCPR-Centre side-event 18 December COSP · We started working on corruption and human rights in 2017. One of the first big activities we did, was carrying out research , to see how corruption was addressed by the TBs at that time. (...) We supported an alternative thematic report on corruption on Uzbekistan to the HR Committee, and the HR Committee put corruption as the second issue in Uzbekistan’s list of issues, asking the State party which measures have been taken to eradicate corruption. (...) It explores how a human rights based approach, focusing on victims of corruption and State responsibility, can be used to complement and strengthen anti-corruption efforts, and wants to reinforce the link between NGOs working on anti-corruption, that usually focus more on the UNCAC system, and the TBs. · To this end, the guide focuses primarily on how UN human rights mechanisms can be better used to report on corruption, and it provides guidance and practical recommendations on effectively integrating human rights into anti-corruption efforts. · The guide begins by explaining the link between corruption and human rights , and it what way, acts of corruption can lead to human rights violations.
