Trafficking in persons in Belize disproportionately affects women, who are mainly trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation; particularly women and girl children from the neighbouring countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras who are forced into dancing and offering sexual services in bars. Information was provided on the increasing number of bars offering exotic dancing in border communities in the southern and northern parts of Belize, and the increasing number of women believed to be brought from El Salvador and Honduras to work informally as prostitutes.

It was alleged that sometime in September or October of 2002 a bomb had been thrown at a house in Paghman where a wedding party with music and dancing was taking place. According to local law enforcement officials the incident was under investigation but no suspects had been identified. Other sources claimed that one of the local leaders of Paghman had been behind this attack as he had banned dancing and music and warned of dire consequences if anyone violated his orders; − During her visit to Kandahar, when the Special Rapporteur interviewed internally displaced persons from the North (mainly from Faryab Province), she was informed that these people - mainly ethnic Pashtoons - had allegedly left their area of origin as their local tribal leaders had been summarily executed by local militia.

On the contrary, the Burmese authorities besmirched their faces by their own hands by dancing to the drum-beating of the south Korean puppet clique, the dual stooge of the U.S. imperialists and the Japanese reactionaries, and they will suffer from its evil consequences for long.
