First person does a dance move and everyone else copies. Everyone takes turns being the leader “Challenge” who can do the most toe touches – jumping jacks, windmill toe touches in a minute “Mirror” each other – facial expressions, movements, sounds. (...) Try it with no leaders! Freeze dance: Play music or someone sings a song, and everyone dances. When the music stops, everyone must freeze. Last person still dancing becomes the judge for the next round Animal dance: Same as above but when the music stops, call out a name of an animal, and everyone has to become that animal Telling stories Tell your children a story from your own childhood Ask your children to tell you a story Make up a new story together starting with “Once upon a time…” Each person adds a new sentence to the story Act out a favorite story or movie – older children can even direct younger ones while learning responsibility Change the object!

The Hayachine Kagura is a series of masked dances accompanied by drum, cymbals and flute: six ritual dances begin the performance; five dances recount stories of the deities and medieval Japanese history, and a final dance features a performer dressed as a shishi,   an imaginary lion-like creature representing the Hayachine deity himself. Originally danced by holy officers of the Shrine to demonstrate the power of the mountain deity and bless the people, the Hayachine Kagura is now performed by representatives of the entire community, who take pride in their distinctive culture.

The Applicant admitted that he had danced with BB in a style of “Latino Americano, this kind of Caribbean dancing” and that BB “may have” pushed him away. The Applicant further described the situation as follows: … [W]e were on the dancing floor, okay, there are a lot of couples dancing. (...) In this regard, the Tribunal takes judicial note that in many Latin American inspired dances, the dancing partners will typically dance physically very close to each other, which was also what the Applicant attempted to do with BB, but which she did not want.
