Subject: The Women Deliver Commitment
Women Deliver Commitment .
We have one message to the world: invest in women – it pays. The facts behind that argument, first heard at the Women Deliver Conference in 2007, helped to put the needs of girls and women, and their babies, higher on the global priority list. (...) For 20 years the world made very little progress in reducing the deaths of mothers and newborns, But now, finally, the numbers are coming down.
Women Deliver, as an advocacy organization, is focused on delivering solutions for girls and women, both short-term and long-term solutions.

Women Deliver : Brunch - Accelerating Action on the MDGs: Delivering for Girls, Women, and Babies
19 SEPTEMBER 2010 | NEW YORK - To help shape the discussion at the Special Session of the General Assembly on the Millennium Development Goals which begins Monday, September 20th, Women Deliver is organizing a brunch, along with several co-hosts, to focus attention to what is increasingly viewed as an international truism: Invest in Women, It Pays! Following up on the success of the Women Deliver 2010 conference, this brunch seeks to energize member country delegations' commitment to the MDGs; provide messages that can be incorporated in member country oral statements at the UNGASS; and promote networking and collaboration between governments, corporations, NGOS, and youth at the country level.
