These didactic materials are dedicated to children of ages 0-6 years old in most vulnerable families. 73% of these kits will be distributed to families in the Social Assistance Scheme whereas 23% will reach to Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities.  (...) UNICEF and partners completed the third round of cash distribution in Daikundi Province, reaching 6,231 families with PLWs across three districts (Miramor, Kijran, Kiti), supporting PLWs to access antenatal care (ANC), institutional delivery, and post-natal care (PNC). (...) In this final round, UNICEF reached a total of 20,433 households. There were some delays delivering the second round of cash transfers in Logar Province, but following negotiations, cash distributions proceeded without compromising humanitarian principles or project objectives. As a result, UNICEF increased monitoring activities for remaining cash distributions in this round. Despite these delays and challenges, between 1-31 May UNICEF reached 13,136 households in Logar Province with cash transfers.

Highlights • As part of the ‘Global Handwashing Day’ celebration on 15 October, UNICEF distributed over 30,000 soap bars; installed handwashing points in four protection centres, five schools, four communities and 26 prioritized health care facilities (HCFs); and distributed 13,008 hygiene kits. • During ‘Global Handwashing Day’, five million people were reached via radio broadcasting with handwashing messages. UNICEF continued with massive distributions of PPE to frontline workers, implementing partners and some beneficiaries, reaching over 144,700 health staff in 360 medical facilities across the country. (...) The programme currently operates through two modalities: (a) preparation of hot meals at school and delivery to students’ homes, or (b) distribution of food bags for the household. In addition to children, the school feeding programme has also reached 4,785 adults (3,584 women and 1,201 men).

There is a continuous trend of increase in positivity rate during November 2020. • The positivity rate increased during the comparison weeks along all sample types (contacts, suspected cases and random screening) as illustrated in the table above. • The positivity rate increased in all Gaza Strip districts as presented in the graph on the right. • The overall positivity rate has been continuously increasing during the last weeks reaching 11%. DISTRIBUTION OF COVID-19 DEATHS • The figure on the right illustrates the distribution of deaths by gender and age group in the two reporting periods. • There is a sharp increase in reported deaths: 39 between 24-30 November from 22 in the preceding week, following a continuous increasing trend of COVID-19 deaths during November 2020 as a direct result of increased number of COVID-19 patients among people aged above 60 as highlighted last week. • One female COVID-19 death was reported among the age group >12-19. (...)
