The only Ideal link requirement is that in the case of a modulated exciter Passive Receiver (PR) link in BTTN signal, the bandwidth of the tag-to-tag backscatter is lower than the bandwidth of the excitation signal. WORKING PAPER : THE POSSIBLE RELATIONSHIP OF REMOTE SENSING TECHNOLOGIES TO BWC VERIFICATION / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
In the microwave region, the photon energies are sufficient to resonantly excite the molecule between two rotational energy levels. (...) Collisions also affect the excited state lifetimes since energy transfer by collision is one of several nonradiative means of de-exciting a state, in competition with the more useful (for remote sensing purposes) radiative emission. (...) Laser induced fluorescence has been used successfully in lidar remote sensing scenarios.7 Despite the lack of characteristic fine structure, a spectrometric fingerprint can be obtained though the combination of the scanned excitation frequency and the dispersed fluorescence at each excitation frequency.

Based on the types of excitation and receivers, we discriminate four types of backscattering systems: (i) Dedicated Exciter Active Receiver systems, (ii) Ambient Exciter Active Receiver systems, (iii) Dedicated Exciter Passive Receiver systems, and (iv) Ambient Exciter Passive Receiver systems. (...) In the broad literature, backscatter systems are classified based on the source of excitation into two types: The promise of the Internet of Things (IoT) has fo- mented research into a wide array of wireless technolo- 1. Dedicated exciter (DE) systems: a source of ex- gies and devices capable of providing the required ubiq- citation is deployed specifically for the purpose of uitous connectivity at a very large scale.

Raj, I am writing on behalf of Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) to share our new report, “‘Excited Delirium’ and Deaths in Police Custody: The Deadly Impact of a Baseless Diagnosis.” (...) Indeed, according to one study, nearly 60 percent of deaths that occur in police custody that are attributed to “excited delirium” involve Black and Latinx victims.1 PHR’s report finds that “excited delirium” is not a valid, independent medical or psychiatric diagnosis and should not be used by clinicians, attorneys, or law enforcement. As the report details, the concept of “excited delirium” is scientifically meaningless because of the lack of consensus or rigorous evidentiary basis behind it.
