that it was because of their race or ethnic origin. (...) Central and South American students experienced dropout rates of 37 per cent and the
rate for students of East-African descent was 32 per cent.

REPORT OF THE SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, ITS CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES, RASHIDA MANJOO :ADDENDUM
Many of them
also suffered displacement, loss of property and of access to such services as education and
health. Women experienced the loss of loved ones and saw their capacity to fulfil their
traditional roles limited by the fear and trauma they had experienced during the conflict.9
13. (...) Approximately 64 per cent of women aged between 15 and 49 years and who had been in a
relationship reported having experienced physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate
partner.15 It also found a significant overlap of emotional, physical and sexual violence
against women perpetrated by intimate partners, with 58 per cent of respondents having
experienced both physical and sexual violence, 14 per cent physical violence only, and 28
per cent sexual violence only.16 Another important finding was that 90 per cent of women
who reported having experienced violence had experienced it at the hands of an intimate
partner, 30 per cent of both intimate and non-partners, and only 10 per cent of women aged
between 15 and 49 years exclusively at the hands of a non-partner. (...) For example, 19 per cent
of women who had experienced intimate partner violence had had their earnings or savings
taken from them by their partners, against only 5 per cent of women who had not
experienced physical or sexual violence by their partners.21

REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXPERT ON THE ENJOYMENT OF ALL HUMAN RIGHTS BY OLDER PERSONS ON HER MISSION TO NAMIBIA :NOTE / BY THE SECRETARIAT
Ageing is nonetheless of particular concern in the region and in Namibia,
as the projected growth rate of the older population of sub-Saharan Africa is expected to be
faster than that experienced by any other region since 1950.3 In 2015, there were 46 million
people aged 60 years or over in sub-Saharan Africa, as compared with 23 million in 1990.
(...) In its 2006 report on the status and living conditions of older people in Namibia, the
Ministry of Health and Social Services reported that an alarming 21 per cent of older
persons had experienced physical abuse, 7 per cent had experienced sexual abuse and 18
per cent had been emotionally abused.
34. (...) Namibia continues to face significant challenges with regard to shortages of skilled
and experienced health professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists and social workers),

REPORT OF THE SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON CONTEMPORARY FORMS OF RACISM, RACIAL DISCRIMINATION, XENOPHOBIA AND RELATED INTOLERANCE ON HIS MISSION TO ARGENTINA : NOTE / BY THE SECRETARIAT
It highlighted that discrimination had mainly been experienced in schools, public
hospitals but also public transportation and in certain geographic areas, including peripheral
urban areas and rural dwellings.
30. (...) The Special Rapporteur is alarmed by the severity of the deprivations still
experienced by indigenous communities. In its 2014 annual report, the Office of the
