In addition, the Armenian brand 5900 BC has participated in several local, regional and international exhibitions and fairs, including the Russian Federal Trade Fair “Textillegprom” held on 2-5 September 2015, as well as in one of the most prestigious international fashion exhibition events and the largest fashion fair in Eastern Europe – the Collection Premiere Moscow, on 23-25 February 2016. During this latter event, the brand successfully promoted its third collection, called “Winter Charm”, to more than 17,000 visitors from twenty-three countries, including fashion producers and sales specialists. The brand producers were also able to meet with representatives of the largest Russian retail chains, garment producers and well-known fashion leaders, who assessed the quality of 5900 BC products as high. Arman Khachatryan, General Director of Development Foundation of Armenia, the project’s main national counterpart, noted that “In a very short period of time, the UNIDO project has realized a large amount of work by creating three high quality fashion collections, which were presented at different international exhibitions.

This year, the BIAAF has announced the opening of the registration period for the 8th edition of its international fashion design competition, which started on the 1 October and will run until 15 December 2021.

Now a new collaboration with the Italian-Haitian fashion designer Stella Jean is providing an even greater boost to their business. Stella Jean, a champion of ethical fashion, learned of the women’s work through FAO’s Women’s Committee, and was introduced to the Mountain Partnership Products initiative to work on a sustainable fashion collection featuring the women’s designs in feltwork and embroidery. (...) While the Kyrgyz women brought their distinctive craft and skills to the table, Jean brought ‘Made in Italy’ expertise, knowledge of contemporary fashion and access to the global marketplace. Last month, the story of this innovative collaboration and the resulting capsule collection was showcased at Milan Fashion Week.
