In order to advance the implementation of Article 6 of the Convention, it is useful to
promote public participation in addressing climate change and its effects and in developing
adequate responses, by facilitating feedback, debate and partnership in climate change
activities and in governance, noting the important role that social media platforms and
strategies can play in this context.

While national health strategies and plans of action should respect, inter alia, the
principles of non-discrimination and people's participation,8 in order for communities to
have genuine, measurable input into policymaking, it is necessary that such communities
are able to voice their opinion on issues that they deem important and provide feedback to
the Government. It is in the long-term interest of any State to include these voices, in order
