Slow jobs recovery and increased inequality risk long-term COVID-19 scarring
ILO projections highlight the danger of a COVID-19 labour market legacy of increased geographic and demographic inequality, rising poverty and fewer decent jobs.

In parallel, numerous donors and initiatives are coming forward to support these countries in planning and implementing REDD+ mitigation actions, which are key to achieving REDD+ targets.
Across the three geographic regions (Asia Pacific, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean), countries are requesting FAO’s technical support on REDD+ implementation, covering:
Formulation of REDD+ actions;
Implementation of REDD+ actions, including enabling actions;
Monitoring and reporting of results of REDD+ actions.

Housing conditions and access to basic services (drinking water, sanitation, and electric power) are far more of a problem in rural areas, and the public investment required to improve them is substantially higher because of the wide geographical dispersion of households or their remoteness from public or private service networks.

Targeted presentations highlighted specific examples in various geographical regions including:
Sustainable production and social and environmental impact of Quinua Real in Southern Bolivia
Genetic improvement of quinoa cultivation in Ecuador
Consumption trends in Western markets
Biodiversity in Latin America (a proposal for Expo 2015)
In addition, quinoa was discussed in relation to diet and healthy lifestyles.
