Currently, paragraphs 5.2.21.1.1 and 5.2.21.1.2 could be interpreted to allow the use of the same symbol graphical design to convey two separate messages, by changing the display colour of the symbol. Using a symbol with the same graphical design but with different colours to relay different messages could lead to confusion, particularly for the colour blind. For this reason, the warning symbols should be of different graphical design, and these appropriate symbols should be added to Regulation 121. 2.

Esraa began by watching a video presented by a young female expert in graphic design. For her, it was very inspiring to see a female role model in the field whom she previously thought was male exclusive. “Most of the graphic designers I see in my village are men,” Esraa says, “there are some girls, but with very limited career choices as our families wouldn’t easily approve staying away from the village for work.”  Now that she had the chance to enhance her skills in graphic design while staying at home, Esraa was very eager to join the competition.
