The design is based on the International Year of Forests (Forests 2011) logo. The iconographic elements in the design depict many of the multiple values of forests and the need for a 360-degree perspective: forests provide shelter to people and habitat to biodiversity; are a source of food, medicine and clean water; and play a vital role in maintaining a stable global climate and environment.

The design and construction of a Web site covers aspects like how the information is broken into separate pages, how graphics are used, the quality and functionality of graphic elements, the use of colours and their function, the coherence of the layout of separate pages, how attractive the pages are, the layout of pages, how navigation is facilitated among the pages, how general information is provided. 28. Testing with representative respondents is necessary because actual respondents will invariably try to make the software behave in ways that it was not designed to behave. It is not possible for designers, developers, or even usability specialists to act as surrogate respondents because they know too much; they are too familiar with the design of the user interface and too knowledgeable about the designer’s concept of progression through the form. Test participants must be people who have had absolutely no prior involvement in pre- design or design and development activities. 6. (...)
