Justice is more agile as the lack of knowledge causes delays
But specialization alone does not suffice – such bodies have to be autonomous, have political and budgetary independence and be irremovable
Cost
One of the central aspects of access to justice.
Access has to be completely free given that it is not safeguarding an individual or economic interest
Access to justice, preventive measures, determination of proof should have no costs safe for bad faith
No cost shall prevail in all cases and not only for vulnerable persons or groups
Preventive character, effectiveness and no cost
The guiding principle of environmental law is prevention
This is why it is fundamental that the measures established to prevent the damage are not only precautionary, but also anticipatory; that the judge may adopt measures ex officio, early, to prevent harm
Such measures must be effective and result in real changes to the situation
No guarantee should be required to obtain an anticipatory measure given that it is not a juxtaposition of two individual, economic rights, but the defense of a diffuse right to a healthy environment
Broad legal standing
Since it is a supra-individual right, legal standing should be as broad as possible and include any individual (with due representation), NGOs, the Public Prosecutor, the Ombudsman, etc.
Preference should be given to collective actions, which should be clearly stated in the text
Hierarchy between obligations
The obligations related to a ruling should follow this hierarchy: restoration, compensation and provision of damages, as provided for in art. 41 of Argentina’s Constitution, being cumulative. (...) Access to justice is an instrumental right that is meaningless without the objective of safeguarding the right to live in a healthy environment.
Art. 9º, 3, “a”: specialization not only for judicial bodies. (...) Conclusions
Access to justice requires an informed and aware population, with wide legal standing
Implementation of information systems (with audits)
Access to Justice does not equate to access to the Judiciary
Not to limit access but ensure that the final aim is to safeguard the right of all to a healthy environment
Effectiveness: objective of the laws should be restoration and reparation instead of provision of damages
Give priority to collective conflict resolution
Give priority to prevention instead of damages
Access free of cost
Need to ensure independence of the Judiciary, Public Prosecutor, Police and Courts of Audit
Network actions, by hydrological basin, biome, or for transboundary matters
Specialization at all levels
Need of countries to report on implementation of the agreement and review mechanism is required

Decisions taken at the second quarter session of the Bureau of the Standing Working Group on Ageing on 24 June 2021 The second quarter session of the Bureau took place on 24 June 2021 and was held online. (...) The themes for the expert panels were proposed as follows: (1) Promoting active and healthy ageing throughout life; (2) Ensuring access to long-term care, and support to families and caregivers; (3) Mainstreaming ageing to advance a society for all ages.
• The Declaration Drafting Group presented a draft text for the Ministerial Declaration. (...) Due to limited time, it was agreed to have additional online drafting sessions and revise the document according to the received comments.
• The secretariat will facilitate the drafting process and before the end of July will share the two documents – a zero draft of the Ministerial Declaration and a draft on the Conference content and structure - with members of the Standing Working Group for review and comments. The deadline for comments is 15 September 2021.
• Draft Provisional Agenda for the 14th meeting of the Standing Working Group on Ageing (22-23 November 2021, Geneva) was presented, discussed, and agreed upon taking into account that the current hybrid mode allows for usual morning and afternoon three-hour sessions with interpretation.
• The next quarterly session of the Bureau will take place at the end of September.

To achieve health for all people, we must promote and protect the health of women and girls throughout life, not just during the reproductive phase of her life. A healthy, empowered girl child grows up to be a healthy woman. A healthy mother creates a healthy family and a healthy nation.
(...) Only then will we be able to achieve women-centred integrated services and universal health coverage.
On this day, WHO stands by women around the world to stop violence against women and achieve equality for women in health.

Agenda : ENG - RUS
The second interactive event in our MIPAA+20 webinar series focused on the synergies between MIPAA and related international initiatives in the field of ageing. Presentations reviewed questions included in the UNECE guidelines for national reports for the 4 th review and appraisal cycle of the implementation of MIPAA/RIS that invite UNECE member States to report on contributions to related international initiatives, including:
Activities related to the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing 2021-2030
Participation in the Global Campaign to Combat Ageism
Contribution of ageing-related policies to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda
Lessons learnt from managing the consequences and impacts of COVID-19
Resources for policy mapping:
Mapping of connections between Sustainable Development Goals, UN Decade Action areas, Lisbon Ministerial Declaration Goals and MIPAA/RIS commitments ( PDF
