Clearly the scope here depends very much on product/process complexity, with simple manufactures and production processes rather easier to imitate than more complex ones. The same principle applies even more so to managerial/organisational innovations though arguably these are in principle, at any rate, easier to imitate. (...) Through collaboration, or more likely imitation, domestic firms can learn how to penetrate export markets.
