William Ruto, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, addresses the General Assembly. UN Photo/Loey Felipe
21 September 2016 – Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, the Vice-President of Kenya today implored the UN Security Council to align the mandate of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) to the threat levels in that neighbouring country, and to provide adequate, predictable funding and other support for the Mission.
(...) Despite repeated appeals, the UN Security Council has failed to provide adequate, predictable funding, as well as force multipliers for AMISOM.
“I once again implore members of the Security Council to take this matter seriously and align the mandate of AMISOM to the threat levels in Somalia on land, air and sea,” he said.

We as concerned civil society implore you to not foolishly plunge into the deep and we join concerned parliamentarians in the call for a global moratorium on deep-sea mining.
(...) It’s one of the world’s major environmental crimes, with proven elements of transnational organised crimes. We implore you to invest more in technology to combat IUU fishing and embed risk indicators on organised crime into national management regimes.
(...) It should not be toyed with. Thus, we implore leaders and key decision-makers to start walking the talk and stop with the dilly- dally.

GENEVA (17 September 2019) – A UN human rights expert has implored Myanmar’s civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi to ‘feel with her heart before it is too late’, saying that even if refugees wished to return they have little to go back to.
(...) “I would like to ask the State Counsellor if the Myanmar that exists today is what she had truly aspired to bring about throughout the decades of her relentless fight for a free and democratic Myanmar? I implore you Madame State Counsellor to open your eyes, listen, feel with your heart, and please use your moral authority, before it is too late.”
