Various training courses were organized for İŞKUR staff; the “Training of Trainers” delivered to 52 staff members of İŞKUR addressed the role of trainers, communication, and presentation skills. To improve İŞKUR’s Job Clubs, which is an intensive job and vocational counseling programme aiming to provide technical and motivational support to groups that require special attention, hardware and software support was provided along with a translation of the materials into Arabic. (...) To facilitate access to the labour markets, 950 Syrians benefitted from the training “Job Search Skills Improvement Programme”, which involves job profiling and CV drafting techniques.

Training Policy Brief How effective were the EU’s economic adjustment programmes in improving job quality in Greece? This brief shows that Greece’s economic adjustment programmes (EAP) have been detrimental to job quality. Against this background, it proposes five policy measures that could improve employment conditions. Given the potential positive effects of job quality to macro-financial stability, such measures could also improve the country’s socio- economic performance over the post-adjustment period. However, in making the shift to climate-smart agriculture, there is enormous potential to improve rural livelihoods. Climate change adaptation and mitigation in agriculture can not only make existing jobs more stable and productive, but can also generate opportunities for new sustainable, decent jobs in rural areas.  (...) The objective of the project “Employment for Youth in Egypt (EYE): Working Together in Qalyoubia and Menoufia” is to contribute to increased productive employment and decent work opportunities for women and men in Qalyoubia and Menoufia governorates, based on a framework of an interdisciplinary, multi-sectoral, and multi-stakeholder approach: Promoting sustainable enterprises; Creating more and better jobs for inclusive growth and improved youth employment prospects; Promoting decent work in the rural economy. (...) It will also empower the institutions and organisations, which will in turn help them to do a better job. The field level– The project will work on the ground a) through assistance of implementing entities and b) through pilot projects; for example in order to improve the quality of Jobs in Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in general, the project introduces the ILO tool Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) training and in-factory counselling programme that improves working conditions and productivity in SMEs. (...) Outcome 2: Local Employment and Economic Development (LEED) is promoted in Qalyoubia and Menoufia Output 2.1: Local actors are mobilised around the local comparative advantage of the target Governorates towards better job creation for young men and women. Output 2.2: A programme linking work placement of young men and women, improved working conditions and productivity in SMEs is implemented.

Improve the data collection, analysis and dissemina- tion to allow for better job matching of the jobseekers who are looking for jobs with enterprises who need workers to fill their job vacancies, and to provide tailor-made labour market programmes to specific groups (i.e. women, migrant workers and people with disabilities. • Develop and design a computer-based system on job-seekers, vacancies and job placements which includes training on computer literacy and database management. • Design mechanisms to ensure better outreach of database and information to users. • Design of labour market programmes that would be adapted to match the needs and contexts of specific groups, for example, organization of vocational training programmes for women job-seekers and people with disabilities in rural areas.
