LETTER DATED 21 OCTOBER 2016 FROM THE PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CHINA TO THE UNITED NATIONS ADDRESSED TO THE SECRETARY-GENERAL
The biggest
challenges for China in realization of the 2030 Agenda remain the following: how to
eradicate poverty, improve people’s livelihood, defuse social problems, achieve
common prosperity, improve national governance system and capability, and
achieve coordinated development among different regions, at all levels and in all
fields.
(...) China will step up the legislative work to
improve the socialist market economic system, develop socialist democratic
political system, foster advanced socialist culture, innovate on social governance,
safeguard citizens’ rights and enhance people’s livelihood, safeguard national
security, protect the eco-environment and improve government functions. (...) The inter -agency mechanism has
assigned the 169 targets of the 2030 Agenda to specific government agencies,
ensuring full accountability for every review task.

GE.12-71085 (F)
Regional, subregional and international cooperation can enhance the collective
ability of Parties to implement the Convention, improve synergies, avoid duplication of
effort between the different conventions, and ultimately both improve the effectiveness of
programming and facilitate its support.
4. (...) Implementation of Article 6 of the Convention serves to spread and improve
understanding and awareness of climate change and to change behaviour, and therefore
communication should address the general public and all stakeholders, such as those
referred to in paragraph 9 above.
11. (...) Such cooperation can further enhance synergies between conventions and improve the
effectiveness of all sustainable development efforts.

FCCC/KP/AWG/2006/MI
(c) In view of the mounting evidence of the serious threat posed by climate change, the
Annex I mitigation target for the second commitment period should be substantially
larger than the 5.2 percent reduction target for the first period. (...) These countries will find it particularly
advantageous to make greater use of the CDM facility in meeting their emission
reduction targets. In short, Annex I Parties could adopt more ambitious emission
reduction targets, without incurring excessive costs, by greater use of the CDM.
(...) We will achieve our target by monitoring our performance closely and adopting new measures if
needed.

HUMAN RIGHTS BODIES AND MECHANISMS : WRITTEN SUBMISSION BY THE AZERBAIJAN: HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSIONER (OMBUDSMAN) : NOTE / BY THE SECRETARIAT
And as
implementation of measures enshrined in the Decree of the President of the Republic of
Azerbaijan dated July 1, 2004, the “State Program on improvement of living conditions and
increasing employment of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons”, as well as in the
amendments to this document dated 31 October, 2007 and 21 February, 2011, were
provided.
(...) As it is known that in the Summit at the
United Nations Headquarter in New York from 25-27 September 2015, the Heads of
member States decided on new global Sustainable Development Goals which include 17
Goals and 169 targets. The most of the targets directly or indirectly are linked to the
development of business which requires human oriented approach. For instance, the target
8 of the SDGs is about the “Decent work and economic growth” which shows that the real
economic growth can not be considered without human rights oriented approach.

EARLY WARNING SYSTEMS :PILOT STUDIES ON EARLY WARNING SYSTEMS : NOTE / BY THE SECRETARIAT
As for monitoring soil
moisture, because the target areas include cold latitudes, some with permafrost, long-term data
will be obtained by algorithm based on the microwave radiation data from satellites such as
SMMR and SSMI. (...) Another aspect to be
considered is the impact of snowfall in the target areas; there has been no previous attempt
systematically to assess soil freezing and related erosion. (...) There has been considerable effort made by TSMS in recent years to improve its
technological capabilities and human resources for a better and more advanced forecasting of
droughts and other climatic events.

REPLIES OF GOVERNMENTS TO QUESTIONNAIRE ECE/RCTE/PC/2 : SUMMARY OF PART 3 : NOTE / BY THE SECRETARIAT
As far as the environmental objectives are concerned
which are laid down in the National Environmental Policy Plans, SVV II
ECE/RCTE/PC/5/Add.1

this, the SVV II aims at a selective improvement in accessibility (congestion
reduction), particularly with a view to retaining and strengthening the
transport and distribution function of the Netherlands.

LETTER DATED 1 OCTOBER 2019 FROM THE PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MALAWI TO THE UNITED NATIONS ADDRESSED TO THE SECRETARY-GENERAL
The concentration of population growth in LDCs will make it
harder to eradicate poverty, reduce inequality, combat hunger and malnutrition,
expand and update education and health systems, improve the provision of basic
services and ensure that no one is left behind, unless specific measures are taken that
will target these areas through the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. (...) These are some
qualitative and quantitative changes in the decades-long target on official
development assistance for the least developed countries. (...) However, LDCs are still further away from the target of 2 per cent
of global exports called for in the Istanbul Programme of Action and target 17.11 of
the Sustainable Development Goals.
