REPORT OF THE SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL ON THE ISSUE OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS AND OTHER BUSINESS ENTERPRISES, JOHN RUGGIE : ADDENDUM
The pilot projects were not in a position to assess the rights-compatibility of individual outcomes from the grievance mechanisms developed. (...) At one of the HP supply factories involved in the adjunct project, the use of a counsellor as a trusted individual that workers could go to with problems, including grievances, about the workplace, seemed to be working well. (...) Once a grievance is registered, the department responsible for the subject of the complaint is identified and the name of an individual responsible for investigating it is entered.
