Interestingly, the Supreme Court analyzed and cited all the relevant international human rights instruments ( ICESCR ,  UDHR ,  CEDAW ,  CRC , etc.) to which Nepal is a state party, thus reinforcing the responsibility and duty of the Nepalese government to fully ensure the achievement of the right to food for every individual. As the case was filed to redress food supply in food insecure districts, the Supreme Court has issued specific directives which clearly recall the  Right to Food Guideline  16.6-16.8 where States are encouraged to take every possible step to protect their citizens from food scarcity caused by natural disaster. The fight for a strong International Criminal Court is a continuous process in which there are no final victories. The Rome Statute serves as a prime example of the interplay between international and national rule of law efforts, as the ICC is complementary to national jurisdictions and an important catalyst for domestic systems of justice. • I am glad to say that the Republic of Serbia, as a step in that direction and as a manifestation of its full support to the Court, in January 2011 signed with it an agreement by which it took an obligation to take over the enforcement of criminal sanctions imposed by the Court. (...) In conclusion, let me reiterate that for Serbia the establishment of a legal state and the rule of law is the basis for ensuring legal security for individuals and the entire society, as it encourages economic growth, investments and a competitive business environment.

But there is no question of defeat or victory today. The Serbian people are not on trial here. (...) It is Slobodan Milosevic as an individual who will now face trial on the charges brought against him for his actions. (...) As we have seen this week at the conclusion of the trial of General Krstic concerning the Srebrenica massacres, a criminal trial is a powerful instrument for arriving at the truth and for determining the responsibility of individuals.
