NAM/CAR/CATC/WG/3 — WP/04  — 2 —    1.3  Our Aviation Training Centre has experienced and professional instructors not only from  a teaching point of view but from an aviation technical competence as well.    1.4  At our regional level it is necessary to take a census of these instructors for the creation  of a potential instructors database.    2.  Development    2.1  The creation of a potential instructors data‐base in our region, represents an important  step  in  the  instruction  regional  integrity  for  the  formation  of New Generation  Aviation  Professional  instructors.  (...) It is also a way of collaboration among centres.    2.2  Instructors  intended  to  form part of  this data‐base  should have higher  requisites  that  differentiate  them  from  the  rest  of  the  instructors  having  them  to  increase  their  professional  preparation.     2.3  In 2015 our Centre chose a group of 15  instructors who are ready to  form part of the  database.

The current wording in the Instructions indicates that the instructor simply needs to have passed the same category as they are instructing, leaving open the possibility that the instructor may have achieved a lower scores on assessments than other students and therefore, potentially acquired less knowledge. (...) An alternative to this working knowledge is a dedicated training programme for instructors, which would supplement the working knowledge requirements. Proof from the employer that the instructor has undergone such a programme or a programme approved by the appropriate national authority is required. 4.3.6 Instructors should also undertake a “hands-on” experience programme (i.e. job shadowing) in a variety of roles requiring dangerous goods training. 4.3.7 Where possible, new instructors of dangerous goods training programmes should construct and co-facilitate dangerous goods courses together with an established instructor. — END —

NAM/CAR/CATC/WG/3 — NE/04  — 2 —    1.3  Nuestros  CIAC,  ha  adquirido  un  grupo  de  instructores,  que  se  destacan  como  profesionales, como docentes y por sus competencias técnicas aeronáuticas.     1.4  A nuestro nivel regional, se hace necesario, conocer y censar a estos instructores, para la creación  de un Banco de Instructores Potenciales (BIP)     2.   (...) También  facilita  la oportunidad de  intercambio y colaboración entre los centros.     2.2  Los  instructores  que  se  propongan  para  integrar  el  BIP,  deben  tener  requisitos  superiores  al  resto  de  los  instructores  en  sus  países,  de manera  que  se  distingan  entre  sus  colegas,  quienes, al mismo tiempo serán incentivados a incrementar su preparación profesional.     2.3  Nuestro centro en el año 2015  realizó la  selección de un grupo de 15 instructores que  se encuentran  listos para formar parte Banco de Instructores Potenciales (BIP) en base a  los requisitos  bases aprobados en  la Segunda Reunión del Grupo de Trabajo NAM/CAR de  los Centros de Instrucción  de Aviación Civil.    3.

Training Competency Development www.icao.int/training Virtual Classroom Instruction (VCI) The ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Virtual Classroom Instruction (VCI) course provides instructors with the competencies required to deliver online courses, supporting the transition from teaching in a classroom to managing instruction within a virtual classroom.
