Under the Government of Prime Minister 25 According to Media Pluralism Monitor, a publication representing a scientific and holistic effort to document the health of media ecosystems in European Union member States, the market plurality of the media in Hungary scores high risk overall, mostly due to media ownership, news media concentration and commercial and ownership pressure over editorial content. (...) Secondly, in a competitive market where media viability is challenged by various factors, the deliberate deprivation of independent media of an important source of funds is contrary to the obligation of the State to promote media independence, diversity and pluralism.
