(...) Among those who are not immune, up to 9 out of 10 people exposed to the measles virus will contract the disease. The nationwide Measles Rubella-Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization campaign will be rolled out in two phases. (...) WHO and UNICEF support the DOH in vaccine procurement and delivery, development of immunization guidelines and communication materials, and building the capacity of DOH staff nationwide to plan and ensure that all eligible children are protected through safe and effective vaccines for measles, rubella and polio.

Vitamin A is an essential micro-nutrient that boosts children’s immunity and prevents childhood night blindness”, said UNICEF’s Chief of Health Programme, Dr. (...) “UNICEF has made available 1.38 million Vitamin A capsules to be given to a targeted 1.22 million children from six months to five years so we appeal to families and communities to ensure young children in this age range receive Vitamin A as well as polio vaccination during this campaign round.” Next round of the nationwide polio campaign: 5-18 November 2018 The next round of the nationwide polio vaccination campaign is scheduled on 29 October – 11 November in the National Capital District and on 5-18 November 2018 for all the other provinces.

The 2021-2023 General Agreement Between Government and Nationwide Employer and Worker Associations Signed In Kazakhstan On March 12, 2021 the National Tripartite Commission for social partnership and regulation of social and industrial relations chaired by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Eraly Tugzhanov held a meeting at which social partners signed the 2021-2023 General Agreement between the Government and nationwide associations of workers and employers. (...) “For the first time ever the three nationwide trade union associations joined their efforts to draft the General Agreement and subsequently advocate their positions at the working group meetings,” Satybaldy Dauletalin said.

In Iraq, since October, two nationwide immunization campaigns and three subnational campaigns have been conducted, achieving overall high quality. (...) Since October 2013, 24 supplementary immunization activities (SIAs) have been conducted across the region to reach more than 22 million children with multiple doses, in:  Egypt (2 nationwide SIAs; 1 subnational SIA); Iraq (2 nationwide SIAs; 3 subnational SIAs); Jordan (3 nationwide SIAs); Lebanon (3 nationwide SIAs); Syria (5 nationwide SIAs); Turkey (3 subnational SIAs); and West Bank and Gaza Strip (2 SIAs).    Phase 2 is being launched on 1 April 2014, with nationwide campaigns in: Egypt (1-3 April); Syrian Arab Republic and Iraq (both on 6-10 April) and Lebanon (April), to be followed by further campaigns across the region in May.
