The Law on Associations regulates the area of founding, financing and functioning of associations of citizens, including the associations of persons with disabilities. (...) This way, capacities of associations of persons with disabilities are being built, simultaneously enticing their direct involvement in the decision making process.
5. (...) The Initial Report is expected to be presented in the spring of 2016.
The following associations were involved in the process of making the report: the National Organisation of Persons with Disabilities (the umbrella association of persons with disabilities in the Republic of Serbia), Organisation of Students with Disabilities, “…Iz Kruga”, Center for Society Orientation/Regional Centre for Monitoring the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Centre “Living Upright”, Inclusive Society Development Center, Centre for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities of Serbia, Cross disability network (CRID) and Coalition of associations gathered around Mental Disabilities International - Serbia (МDRI).

There are about 268 thousand persons with disabilities in Lithuania. They are represented by more than 30 associations of persons with disabilities. (...) In the decision-making processes, including the development of legislation and policy, the rights of people with disabilities are defended and represented by the associations of disabled persons. Decisions are taken after assessment of the opinions, experiences and the needs of persons with disabilities.

However, the experience of the Ombudsman for persons with disabilities shows that employers need to also extend the right to reasonable accommodation to employees who are associated with a person with disability (employee´s child, parent, spouse etc.). (...) The court reasoned that the “associated person’s” disability in fact is the employee’s disability for the purpose of the accommodation obligation. In our opinion, judgment of the European Court of Justice in Case C-303/06 Coleman v. Attridge Law and Steve Law [2008][footnoteRef:2] supports this need for expanded reasonable accomodation when it introduces the principle of discrimination by association: The European Court of Justice has held that the Framework Employment Directive (2000/78/EC) does cover direct discrimination and harassment against an employee on the ground of his or her association with a disabled person.

It makes no difference whether a person is disabled
or not. Positive freedom of association guarantees the individual right of every disabled
person to form and become actively involved in associations. Negative freedom of
association implies that disabled person have the right not to form an association, to stay
away or resign from existing associations.

dealing with preventive health issues and the rehabilitation of insured persons.

As far as practice of law is concerned, the Law (Article 2) states that it is an autonomous and independent service of rendering legal assistance to natural and legal persons and that the attorneys who were recorded in the Bar Association Register may practice law, individually or in a joint law firm or a in a partnership law firm.
