Given the global role India is currently playing in governance issues and its neutral and objective approach on key policy issues, India is well placed to not only provide substantive physical facilities for IPBES but also will provide credibility to the Platform itself by hosting the Secretariat. With multiple players covering the sector now the facilities are both immediate as well as affordable. 5. Diplomatic representation in the country As an important global player, India has good diplomatic relations with all the countries in the world, many of who have their full-fledged representation in India.
