REPORT OF THE SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON THE HUMAN RIGHT TO SAFE DRINKING WATER AND SANITATION :ADDENDUM
These very small-scale water providers are in fact the major water
providers to the poor in very remote areas or in informal settlements.
36. (...) Further, as informal service providers
tend to be unregulated, they charge prices determined by what the market will bear or by price-
fixing between providers, rather than by considerations of affordability. (...) Since 2004, 118 water service providers have registered, including small-scale
providers, community-based organizations and non-governmental organizations, but many
providers are still unregistered.

VISIT TO SWITZERLAND : REPORT OF THE WORKING GROUP ON THE USE OF MERCENARIES AS A MEANS OF VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS AND IMPEDING THE EXERCISE OF THE RIGHT OF PEOPLES TO SELF-DETERMINATION
International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers
23. Through a Swiss-led multi-stakeholder initiative, the International Code of Conduct
for Private Security Service Providers came into being in November 2010. (...) For example, in one country, the company provided training to security
providers due to the lack of skilled and qualified workers. (...) The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs advises
its representations abroad on procurement and contracts in compliance with the Act,
although the large majority of contracts with private security providers are concluded
locally. A publicly available model contract for Swiss federal authorities and private
security providers provides transparent guidance on the prerequisites and obligations to be
fulfilled by private security providers abroad.

LDCs received 1 and 8 per cent respectively of total private finance mobilized.
26. (...) Reported expected and actual results from climate finance providers indicate an
increase in portfolio-level emission reductions and number of beneficiaries reached.

THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON ON THE WATER-SCARCE ARAB REGION
The COVID-19 pandemic, and resulting increase in demand for
water and sanitation services of the highest quality, requires
service providers to ensure a continuous supply of chemicals
needed for water and wastewater testing and treatment. (...) Governments should ensure that water operators
are considered critical service providers, who are
exempt from mobility restrictions to ensure service
continuity. (...) Utilities should also introduce
online payment facilities, if not already available.
Water service providers should increase quality
assurance measures on water and wastewater
treatment systems.

REPORT OF THE SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON THE HUMAN RIGHTS TO SAFE DRINKING WATER AND SANITATION ON HIS MISSION TO MEXICO :NOTE / BY THE SECRETARIAT
Those levels of coverage show that service providers are capable of
effectively promoting implementation of the rights to water and sanitation. (...) The Special Rapporteur was informed that there
is no quality surveillance of informal water providers by the Ministry of Health, which is a
cause for concern in view of the prevalence of such providers in Mexico to supplement
insufficient public services.
32. (...) The
Special Rapporteur ascertained that those who receive no service or poor service by their
providers are those who experience the highest economic and social impact, since they are
compelled to rely on expensive alternative or supplementary ways of accessing water, such
as bottled water, water trucks and informal providers.
