A/HRC/5/G/11 page 2 Annex STATEMENT THE DELEGATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF KOREA The delegation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the 5th Session of the Human Rights Council categorically and resolutely rejects the renewal of the mandate of special rapporteur on DPRK (hereinafter referred to as “rapporteur”) as contained in the draft decision of the Session. Japan, EU member states and the United States, which are wire pullers of the “rapporteur”， have made undisguised attempts to maintain him by all means through the renewal of his mandate at the current 5th Session of the Council. (...) In defiance of resistance of many countries including the DPRK that oppose politicization of human rights, the United States, Japan and EU member states adamantly inserted the renewal of mandate of the “rapporteur” in the draft decision.

A residence permit can be renewed, but not for a duration longer than the initial permit covered.7 If the worker does not apply for renewal within the specified period, the police department will issue an order (provvedimento di refiuto) requesting him or her to leave the country within 15 days. (...) Many legal immigrants found that their rights were restricted because they had only a receipt for the renewal application which was refused by many bodies as inadequate. (...) Resident foreigners with a legal remunerated activity as a result of self-employment or paid employment, those registered as unemployed and those who have applied for renewal of their residence permits are entitled and required to register with the National Health Service.

The first MoU was signed in 2011 and a subsequent MoU was signed in 2013. On 6 July 2015, a renewal of the MoU was signed by Sr. Nur Kholis on behalf of KOMNAS HAM Indonesia and Sr. Silverio Pinto Baptista on behalf of the PDHJ in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. The signing of the renewal of the MoU was a continuation of longstanding, intensive and fruitful cooperation between PDHJ and KOMNAS HAM Indonesia.

These concerns are shared by a number of national and international human rights stakeholders, including the JCHR , the Council of Europe (COE), CCPR, the CERD Committee, CAT Committee and the CRC Committee11.The Commission welcomes the statement given by the Home Secretary in the government’s recent renewal of the 28 day pre trail provision that a period of 14 days pre trial detention would be more appropriate12. 9 The Commission is also concerned regarding government proposal to "lessen the burden" of stop and search recording, and invites the government review process to carefully consider stop and search policies and devise ways to minimise adverse impact on communities in the UK. (...) However, bearing in mind the draconian nature of such a power, the Commission would recommend that it should remain subject to annual renewal by parliament, and assessment by the CPS as to whether it continues to be necessary in light of the nature of the terrorist threat.

The Special Rapporteur considers that, with the adoption of the regional planning blueprint52 in 2010, Algeria has an important reference document for urban renewal, the promotion of more inclusive cities, the restoration of urban functions and the improvement of housing for the population. She also appreciates the adoption in 2010 of a land use and development plan for Algiers, which calls for the creation of a metropolitan zone in the capital through a restructuring of transport, urban renewal within the city’s current boundaries, and infrastructure projects. According to information brought to the Special Rapporteur’s attention, families that should have been resettled in the context of urban renewal projects or the clearance of substandard housing have been de facto victims of evictions, because they were excluded from the resettlement plan without any explanation or compensation.

According to community radio representatives, the eight approved provisions would continue to allow the automatic renewal of frequencies that had been renewed under the previous law, and would therefore be unconstitutional. (...) The association also pointed out the lack of legal security in the processes of assignment, revocation and renewal of licences developed during the tenure of the previous Government.
