Chairman, as all acceding countries are in this room, with the principle of not to leave anyone behind in benefiting from the global trading system and the recently experienced accession practice to help LDCs to meeting their obligations on balanced terms after accession, we want this forum as part of its final report to include two points, i. urging Members to continue considering the specific level of development of LDCs and strictly follow the sprits of the 2012 General Council Decision on LDCs Accession by implementing the set benchmarks in goods and services, and restraint in seeking concessions that they are not ready to take any commitment and are beyond their level of development and regulatory capacities. ii. to urge multilateral organizations and other donors to increase and continue their need based technical and other supports to ease and facilitate the accession process.

The Regional Action Plan for the implementation of NAU also seeks to promote urban resilience to the impacts of climate change and both natural and man-made disasters. After reviewing over 1500 local signs and an equivalent number of American signs, in September 2007, an historic 1st edition of the Dictionary of Trinidad and Tobago signs and an accompanying DVD, were completed and handed over to the Ministry of Education and relevant NGOs for review. With regard to housing, Government’s policy included 5% of housing stock under the Government’s housing programme being allocated for vulnerable persons with disabilities and the aged.

The initiative re-directs poorer communities to seek relief through the ISUPR, as it simplifies bureaucratic procedures by integrating efforts from various business entities to provide “one-stop-shop” service. (...) Through ISUPR, 1,020 houses in Tangen District and 1, 210 houses in Gemolong District have been renovated through the distribution of housing grants. 1,500 housing grants have been delivered in Sumberwalang District in 2014., and the number of families living under poor housing conditions have been reduced from 62,109 in 2011 to 55,394 in 2014.
