It aims to present the UNECE-Housing Europe-UN-Habitat study “#Housing2030: Effective policies for affordable housing in the UNECE region ” containing a toolkit on affordable climate-neutral housing to demonstrate its use in mitigating potential negative social impacts of decarbonization strategies on vulnerable sections of the society, particularly young people.

The UNECE Working Party on Land Administration (WPLA) recently published the Scenario study on future land administration in the UNECE region with the purpose to better understand potential future directions of development of the land administration sector based on megatrends in combination with sector-specific drivers. The study is intended as a dialogue instrument for use in strategic planning, shaping visions and self-assessment as to where land administration authorities need to develop as agencies within their relevant land administration and land management ecosystems, and estimate their readiness as well as efforts required in order to remain relevant long-term.

The
UNECE Housing and Land Management Unit provides the secretariat to the Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management (CUDHLM). (...) For example, to tackle climate change, the secretariat commissioned a report which analyses potential emission reductions in the housing sector. The result is an Action Plan on energy-efficient housing in the UNECE region. Another upcoming area of action is the green economy, and the secretariat is exploring ways to support countries with economies in transition to realize the shift towards green economic growth in the housing sector.
