(...) Accordingly, the Chamber ordered that the Warrant of Arrest for Simone Gbagbo ceases to have effect. (...) Simone Gbagbo On 29 February 2012, the judges issued a warrant of arrest under seal. The warrant of arrest against Mrs Gbagbo was unsealed on 22 November 2012.

Alternatively, if the national authorities are unable to execute this Warrant of Arrest and Surrender, then in accordance with Rule 59 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence, they are required to report this fact to the Registrar of the International Tribunal immediately, detailing the reasons that have precluded the proper execution of the arrest warrant. This provides that if, within a reasonable time after the arrest warrant or transfer order has been transmitted to the State, a report has not been provided on the action taken, this shall be deemed to be a failure to execute the arrest warrant or transfer order and the International Tribunal, through the President, may notify the Security Council of the United Nations accordingly.
