Whilst several laws and programmes have been adopted, especially to comply with EU regulations, more action is necessary. (...) This presents a significant environmental hazard given the pollution from untreated wastewater. Moreover, whilst in all areas of the green economy there is a lack of an educated workforce ready to meet these demands, the problem is particularly pronounced for the water management sector.
