Whilst there is a specific target under SDG 12 on Sustainable Consumption and Production on the sound management of chemicals, chemicals affect almost all aspects of development and, as such, chemicals management is imperative for achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Tonga very much looks forward to working with both of them as fully fledged Member States of the Organisation. Whilst "9/11" will for all of us be ever present, it is fitting that we pause to remember those who fell in the line of duty and those loved ones who perished that terrible day. (...) An activity that continues to give rise to deep concern is the transshipment of radioactive material through the waters in our region. In this regard, whilst we might understand the needs and requirements of those States who engage in this activity, it is just as important that the necessary framework for prior notice, consent, safety and compensation for countries like Tonga not be ignored. (...) We welcome the fruitful outcome, earlier this year, of the UN General Assembly Special Session on Children. Whilst we recognize the promise it holds for the welfare and well being of all children, like the outcome of the recent Special Session on HIV/AIDS, commitments must progress beyond the rhetoric into concrete actions.

“How will this plan sit with personnel and managers?” Whilst organizational culture should not drive the return to the workplace plan, it should be considered once the overall plan and its components are finalized to guide the speed of return, the amount of flexibility offered, and the overall personnel communication plan. 4. (...) Knowing the vaccination status of all personnel is therefore key to developing a plan that affords maximum flexibility and operational capability whilst also being safe. Vaccination status does not affect access to the workplace – however it does affect what restrictions apply to each group. In general, those who are unvaccinated will need to continue to mask and distance, whilst those who are vaccinated may not need to in certain situations.
