Bahawalnagar, Punjab - February 2018: Sitting in her modest courtyard, Kausar pours a mixture of Zinc and low Osmolarity Oral Rehydration Salt (LoORS) into a pot of water boiling in a clay oven. (...) “Nabeel has been suffering from diarrhea for the last three days,” says Kausar, a resident of Kot Hamraj, Bahawalnagar District, Punjab. (...) Cholera Deaths
During the months of May through August 2009, over 400 people died of cholera or
diarrhea-related deaths in the Mid West and Far West of Nepal.3 In the end, it became clear
that many of the deaths resulted from conditions which have been experienced annually

Government launches new rotavirus vaccine to protect children from diarrhea
26 June 2018
UGANDA, BUIKWE, 26 JUNE 2018 – The Government of Uganda has today launched a new rotavirus vaccine to protect under five-year-old children from diarrhea. (...) Rotavirus infection is the leading cause of diarrhea in children under five and it is highly contagious. (...) The virus may cause severe, dehydrating diarrhea in young children and, in untreated cases, lead to death.
